The South-Western City School District in central Ohio has installed a radio tower and purchased two-way UHF radios for all its schools and buses to improve communications throughout the district during emergencies, such as during tornado warnings. The district's buses also are equipped with GPS devices and a direct channel to the police station. "We are doing everything we know to keep our students and staff safe while they're at school," Executive Director of Communications Sandra C. Nekoloff said.
