Babies exposed to perfluorinated compounds while in the womb were no more likely to have smaller body size at age 7 than unexposed peers, according to a Danish study in the American Journal of Epidemiology. Previous research linked the chemicals to reduced birth weight and body mass index in baby boys, but the present study suggests that the delayed growth may be recovered between infancy and childhood.
