Exploration or development of shale gas resources is underway in half a dozen Canadian provinces, according to this report. Even as Canadian shale gas production lags behind that of the U.S., "at current consumption rates, including exports to the United States," the country has "enough gas to supply our needs for the next 100 years or more," according to estimates by the Canadian Society of Unconventional Gas.
