About 78% of Facebook users who "like" brands in key consumer categories do so because they already use the brands and like them, and not because they're in search of coupons or discounts, according to research by social marketing firm Syncapse. The trend flips when it comes to popular retail brands including H&M, Zara and Wal-Mart, whose fans are in it for the discounts, according to the study.
