A team of scientists have developed a simpler way to determine the handedness of molecules by using nanoparticles to amplify right-handed or left-handed molecular responses to circularly polarized light. "Our discovery and methods based on this research could be extremely useful for characterization of biomolecular interactions with drugs, probing protein folding and in other application where stereometric properties are important," said researcher Oleg Gang.
