Mark Kirk, R-Ill., spoke about his own experience at the institute recovering from a stroke he had in January 2012. The new hospital will be organized around AbilityLabs, which are centers where clinicians and researchers in complementary specialties will work with patients. Kirk was part of the testing of the AbilityLab model during his rehabilitation.
