More than half of the medical schools in Canada lack or have lax conflict-of-interest policies, according to a study published in PLoS One. Seventy percent of faculties had either permissive or nonexistent policies regarding interactions with sales representatives, and 82% of schools lacked or had permissive policies regarding product samples, but 88% had someone assigned to enforce disclosure, ghostwriting and gift policies.
