The U.S. Department of Agriculture is being sued by eight meat and livestock groups in the U.S. and Canada over country-of-origin meat labeling rules. The industry argues the rules have hurt Canadian farmers as the U.S. has imported fewer of their cattle and pigs. The suit argues that revisions prohibiting co-mingling of meat from different countries in the same package will increase costs and further harm the industry.
