Officials with U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the agency is considering establishing more customs outposts at overseas airports. The agency defended a controversial plan for a preclearance facility at the Abu Dhabi airport in the United Arab Emirates during a congressional hearing. "We're very open to doing [this] in locations in Europe and Asia," said Kevin McAleenan, acting deputy commissioner at the CBP. There are currently 14 CBP posts in foreign countries.
