Chief executives and chief financial officers should work closely, and not just when it's time to review the firm's balance sheet, writes Robert Sher. Financial chiefs are well-placed and obligated to detect the vision and leadership a company needs but lacks, Sher argues. "The CFO's duty is to help build the leadership infrastructure that will allow the firm to scale," he writes.
