Jobs that offer at least $37,000 a year plus benefits are disappearing because more employers are using temporary workers and technology is making some jobs obsolete, experts say. A college education no longer guarantees a good job because demand has increased for highly specialized skills, they note. "Hundreds of thousands of workers have a standard of living that's lower than what their parents had 30 years earlier," said Chris Owens, the executive director for the National Employment Law Project.
