Young employees may "get" social media, but they often lack the crucial ability to harness newfangled tools in ways that serve their company's specific strategic needs, writes Gerald Kane. In fact, it can be easier to train older workers to use social tools than to instill strategic awareness in younger workers. "Younger, new employees are often strong in procedural understanding of social media tools, but they need to be guided by a strategic vision," Kane writes.
