AAA predicts that the number of people who will travel at least 50 miles from home during the Labor Day weekend will rise to 34.1 million -- the largest volume since the peak 45.1 million travelers recorded in 2008. AAA CEO Robert L. Darbelnet attributes the growth to "the increasingly positive economic outlook and optimism in the housing market. As home prices improve in many parts of the country, more families are feeling comfortable about traveling this Labor Day holiday."
