The marketing of Fisher-Price and Open Solutions' mobile applications for children is falsely creating an impression that the products can educate babies and toddlers, according to a complaint filed Wednesday by the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood to the Federal Trade Commission. Without definitive proof, Fisher-Price claims that its Laugh & Learn apps will teach users language and numbers skills, while Open Solutions says its apps can help babies learn how to read and to spell.
