Some travel agents saw Carnival's recent announcement of adding a "travel professional" call to action in some of its TV commercials as a positive step toward rebuilding a strained relationship between the cruise line and the agent community. However, other agents said more needs to be done. "There is no question Carnival has made a number of choices that have placed them in what appears to be an agent-unfriendly position. Obviously, they have come back to the table to discuss a renewed vision of the distribution channel relationship," said Scott Koepf, vice president of sales at Avoya Travel.
