The Air Force is changing its fitness test girth standards in response to complaints that waist measurements are unfair to thick-bodied airmen who are otherwise fit. According to a memo from Gen. Mark Welsh, "if an Airman fails the AC [abdominal circumference] portion of the test, and passes each of the other three components, we'll measure that Airman using the Body Mass Index."
