Hass avocados typically weigh about half a pound each, but this year's crop from California is full of lemon-sized fruit as a result of low winter rainfalls and late-season pollination by erratic bees, growers say. "I can't ever remember a season when all the avocados were this small, and that's over 30 years in the business," said grower Charley Wolk.
