The way the ultra-affluent people travel has changed, as they've shifted from fine dining and grand hotel concepts to adventure trips. About 20% of private jet travelers go on at least one experiential trip each year worth about $100,000. The people in this demographic spend about $4 billion per year on adventurous trips to far-off destinations such as South Africa, Brazil, Nepal, Alaska, and Canada."I have clients who one week will be on a yacht in the Med and two weeks later are kayaking in Norway or trekking in China," said Stacy Small, who owns Elite Travel International in California.
