The huge ratings for the final season of "Breaking Bad" demonstrate how binge viewing and appointment TV can work hand-in-hand, Willa Paskin writes. AMC has made all of the series' past episodes available on Netflix, and 50,000 Netflix subscribers screened all 13 episodes of Season 4 one day prior to the fifth-season launch. "'Breaking Bad' demonstrates that meting out a show slowly and giving audiences lots of time to catch up at their own pace can grow viewership," Paskin writes. "But it also proves that sometimes, insisting that same audience show up to watch exactly when a network says they should can energize it."
