The number of mothers who nursed their babies from birth, at 6 months and at 12 months substantially increased from 2000 to 2010, CDC researchers reported on Wednesday. The rates of breast-feeding rose from 35% to 49% at 6 months and from 16% to 27% at 12 months of age. At birth, the breast-feeding rate jumped from 71% to 77% during the study period.
