Cyberfraud is taking on the disguise of social-media popularity, writes Jim Finkle. Hackers are selling endorsements on the most popular sites, in at least one instance transmitting a modified Zeus virus that creates bogus Instagram "likes." On hacker forums, "likes" are openly bartered among credit-card thieves and other hackers and purchased nefariously by corporations that want to appear to be trending and create a bandwagon effect, said Victor Pan, WordStream senior data analyst.
