Apple's strategy of making applications only for its iOS platform is differentiating the top apps in the Apple App Store and Google Play, according to Canalys. Only 70 of the top 100 App Store apps for the iPad are available at Google Play, and another 18 have not been optimized for Android tablet users. "Quite simply, building high-quality app experiences for Android tablets has not been among many developers' top priorities to date," says Tim Shepherd, Canalys senior analyst.
