CDC data show that from 2008 to 2011, obesity rates for young children from low-income families declined in 19 states and U.S. territories, and researchers said it could signal a turning point in the epidemic among children ages 2 to 4. CDC researcher Heidi Blanck said it is the first time so many states have seen a decline, and experts said the key to ending the obesity epidemic may be reaching young children.
