China Mobile, which posted lackluster results for the first half of 2013, is betting on the TD-LTE standard mobile technology. The favored 4G standard, thus far, is LTE-FDD, which has support from the likes of AT&T and Verizon Wireless in the U.S. China Mobile is hoping to make a global push for TD-LTE, as evidenced by its recent purchase of $7 billion in compatible TD-LTE equipment.
