Clean Line Energy Partners' request for information for its Plains and Eastern Clean Line transmission project drew responses from 15 developers, representing more than 16,000 megawatts of wind projects in the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles and Kansas. The developers' proposed total capacity would be more than four times what the line would be capable of handling. "When we add our expected transmission cost to the prices proposed by these wind developers, we can offer a delivered product that compares head to head with all other energy options available to utilities in the southeastern United States," said Clean Line President Michael Skelly.
