New Haven Public Schools in Connecticut and Catalysts Powering Educational Performance teamed up this summer to host a camp for 120 seventh- and eighth-graders, in which campers learned about science, technology, engineering and math through educational video games and hands-on projects, such as bridge construction. "We were able to use hands-on experience with building, constructing and having a budget, it gave us a real-life experience of how it would be in the real world," eighth-grader Wayde Whichard said.
