Precast concrete dolos, weighting 16,000 pounds and with a shape similar to the jacks in a ball-and-jacks game -- or "jacks for giants" -- will be used in Washington state to mitigate riverbank erosion along the Puyallup River. In addition, loose tree branches and logs will be placed atop the interlocking dolos to create a fish habitat.
