Norwegian researchers found almost 1 in 5 children and adolescents -- and 1 in 4 females -- with type 1 diabetes exhibited disturbed eating behavior. Data on the 11- to 19-year-olds also showed 28.9% of overweight patients and 38.1% of those who were obese had DEB. "It is recommended that adolescents with T1D should be routinely and annually screened for disordered eating behavior," researcher Line Wisting reported in Diabetes Care.
