Intravenous fish oil yielded a higher reversal rate for advanced intestinal failure-related liver disease among pediatric patients compared with the standard soybean oil treatment, according to a study in the Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. Of the patients in the fish-oil group, almost 80% had a reversal of liver disease, while just 5% of 20 historical controls placed on soybean-oil intervention experienced such reversal.
