Thirty-five percent of developers look to the iOS platform first, compared to 27% targeting Android devices, according to a first quarter survey by Forrester. Despite commanding an 80% global footprint, Android devices monetize worse than iOS, observers note, and "developing on Android also typically requires more resources owing to high levels of ecosystem diversity on both the OS and devices side resulting in a greater number of OS versions and screen sizes to support," Natasha Lomas writes.
