Search engines Yahoo, Google, Bing and Ask are among 17 sites that have received a letter from the Federal Trade Commission warning them that purchased content is not being properly disclosed. Brafton reports that the warnings could mean that common black hat SEO marketing practices of stuffing keywords and purchased backlinks into content may be on the decline. Instead, Brafton recommends that marketers stick to best practices for SEO to remain in compliance.
