A landscape company in Columbus, Ga., has been able to weather a weak economy by providing maintenance services to a wider variety of customers and using automatically renewing contracts. Brad Terrell, owner of A Cut Above Landscape Management, caters to commercial, government and high-end residential clients, and contracts are renewed automatically for another year unless the customer cancels. "It's pretty rare for a client to want to go year by year and scrutinize everything. So it has worked out very well. I'm kind of surprised that more contractors aren't doing it," Terrell said.
