Gastrointestinal problems tend to worsen during heat waves, according to a study by Swiss scientists. "There has never before been a study investigating the impact of climate change -- represented by an increase in heat waves -- on [inflammatory bowel disease] and [infectious gastroenteritis] flares," said Dr. Christine Manser of University Hospital in Zurich.
