An Outback Steakhouse mobile campaign is delivering positive results by geo-targeting customers within five miles of particular restaurants and geo-fencing loyal customers, writes Chantal Tode. The geo-conquesting strategies came out of an xAd Mobile Path-to-Purchase study that showed location as a critical factor in deciding where to eat, said Monica Ho, xAd vice president of marketing. The study showed that restaurants, financial services/insurance and retail get the best results from geo-conquesting.
