Cell tower giant Global Tower Partners is on the block, according to a published report that estimates the 11-year-old company could sell for more than $4 billion. Global has grown from controlling 2,500 towers and 4,600 rooftop sites when Australia's Macquarie Infrastructure Partners bought it in 2007 to 16,000, including 6,400 in the U.S. Considered the largest privately held cell tower firm in the U.S., Global would be among the largest such companies to be put up for sale in recent years.
