The Golf Channel decided to mark the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech on Twitter by asking its 200,000 followers to share their " 'golf' dream." The network quickly drew fire for trivializing the civil rights battle, and deleted the message. "Not every brand fits every moment, and the Golf Channel learned this the hard way today," Alex Kantrowitz writes.
