U.S. gasoline exports may increase in 2014 because of a shortage of Renewable Identification Numbers, the International Energy Agency said. In its monthly Oil Market Report, the IEA said, "Some industry participants warn that a shortage of RINs will force firms to reduce the gasoline volumes offered in the U.S. market in 2014 and after. Instead, gasoline production could be exported as only fuel supplied to the U.S. market require[s] a RIN certificate."
