The city council of Sioux City, Iowa, decided Monday to delay by two weeks a vote on ending municipal glass recycling, after the city's garbage contractor asked to end the practice due to a lack of a market for recycled glass. If the city votes to end glass recycling through the contractor, it is possible that Ripple Glass Co., of Kansas City, Mo., would set up containers for recyclable glass and pick it up for free, according to a proposal heard by the city council earlier this month.
