Laundry rooms can contain potential hazards to children and should be off-limits to them, according to American Cleaning Institute partner and child safety expert Kimberlee Mitchell. She advises parents to keep detergent pods away from children, preferably higher up and out of reach. She also recommends childproofing the door to the room as well as the openings to the machines as part of ACI's KEY initiative.
