Microsoft has been hit with a class-action suit in federal court from a San Diego-based law firm that accused the company with issuing "materially false and misleading statements" regarding the performance of its Surface RT tablet. The law firm Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd said it was acting on behalf of those who bought Microsoft shares between April 18 and July 18. Microsoft took a $900 million write-down on the tablet on its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings.
