Disability advocates say a lawsuit by 26-year-old medical student Michael Argenyi, who is deaf, could set an important precedent for access for individuals who are deaf seeking education for highly-skilled professions, such as those in medicine. Argenyi has filed suit against Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Neb., for forbidding his use of interpreters when interacting with colleagues and patients during the clinical phase of his training.
