Women aged 20 to 54 who consumed more than 28 cups of coffee per week had a more than twofold increased risk of dying from any cause compared with women who were moderate coffee drinkers, a study showed. The mortality risk for men in the same age range who were heavy coffee drinkers was 1.5 times greater than their moderate-drinking counterparts. The findings were published in the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings.
