Young adults with developmental disabilities gained a taste of independence during a weeklong camp offered by the Arc of Westchester in New York for recent high-school graduates. Held on a college campus, students stay in dorms, hang out in campus game rooms and participate in group activities, such as relay races in the courtyard. "We want to help the kids transition to adult life," Arc recreation director David Gasparri said.
