New data from TravelClick indicate that hotel bookings through online travel agencies grew the most during the second quarter, at 11.7%. Bookings through hotel websites grew 8.1%, while GDS bookings and direct bookings grew 5.7% and 4.4%, respectively. "Hotels are discounting less and also taking advantage of the changes in the OTA business model that allows them to drive more lucrative retail business through that channel," said Tim Hart, an executive vice president at TravelClick.
