Sharing things about yourself on Facebook can trigger the brain's reward centers more effectively than sharing things about other people, researchers say. Others say online oversharing is the result of anxious attempts to impress others. "We try to look smart, witty, and interesting, but the effort required to do this leaves less brain power to filter what we say and to whom," Elizabeth Bernstein of The Wall Street Journal wrote earlier this year.
