New Jersey lawmakers are considering the pros and cons of implementing a "pay forward" tuition system at state colleges and universities, in which students could attend school tuition-free if they agree to pay back a percentage of their salaries when they land a job after graduation. The system is similar to others proposed in Oregon, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Washington. "We are asking students to go into debt, and it's not acceptable anymore," Assemblywoman Celeste Riley said.
