More than 2,000 faculty and staff at Pennsylvania State University are asking the school to rescind a $1,200 penalty for failing to have medical tests and fill out a health questionnaire as part of the university's wellness requirements. School officials said a goal of the "Take Care of Your Health" wellness program is to reduce employee health costs, but staff contend it is coercive, and health care consultant Vik Khanna said health surveys may actually raise issues that lead to higher utilization of medical services.
