The ethanol industry and the Renewable Fuel Standard are not the reasons for concern over the gasoline market, it's Big Oil, writes Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen, in response to an op-ed by Charles Lane. The oil industry has refused to make the investments necessary to meet RFS requirements, Dinneen writes. "In a market in which ethanol producers have to rely on our competitor for access to the consumer, we're not going to make progress without policies like the RFS to expand competition," he writes.
