Short bursts of less than 10 minutes of high-intensity physical activity may lead to about as much weight loss as longer periods of low-intensity activity do, University of Utah researchers reported on the website of the American Journal of Health Promotion. The study, which included 4,511 adults, showed that both short and long activity periods lead to weight loss over time, reducing BMI and the risk of being overweight or obese.
