Short bursts of less than 10 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity may lead to about as much weight loss as longer periods of lower-intensity activity, University of Utah researchers reported in the American Journal of Health Promotion. The study, which involved 4,511 adults, showed both short and long activity periods lead to weight loss over time, reducing BMI and the risk of being overweight or obese.
